Ingredients

Negroni, the classic Italian cocktail, is having a bit of a moment, becoming a regular staple on bar menus. This simple version is made with sweet vermouth, Aperol (an aperitif similar to Campari available online and at Sainsbury's) and gin. Any good quality gin will do, although we like using Caorunn as the unique flavours of rowan berry, heather and dandelion leaf complement the other ingredients beautifully.

  • 25ml gin (we like Caorunn for this recipe)
  • 25ml Aperol
  • 25ml sweet vermouth

TO SERVE:

  • Ice
  • Orange twist (garnish)

Method

  1. Stir the ingredients over ice and garnish with an orange twist. Serve in a rocks glass.
