Home-Made Tomato Sauce For Pizza


  • 2 x 400g (13oz) tins chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3tbsp olive oil


  1. Drain the tomatoes in a large, fine sieve over a mixing bowl for about 10 mins. Discard the liquid.
  2. Transfer the tomato pulp, garlic and olive oil to a large saucepan and cook over a low heat, stirring frequently, for 20-30 mins, or until the mixture is reduced and thick. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.
  3. You can store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to four days and freeze any leftovers.
