We refurbished a two bedroom flat in a Victorian conversion located in Stoke Newington. The flat required some basic replanning, and by moving a few key walls it allowed the space to really open up and become much more useable. Highlights of colours and patterns were introduced to create features and focal points within the rooms. Another project we completed recently is a two bedroom factory conversion, situated in the heart of east London. The house was incredibly cramped and very dark with disproportionately sized rooms. We took this space and created an open-plan living area at ground level with large bi-folding doors allowing direct access on to the patio. Upstairs, we reconfigured the space to create two large bright and airy bedrooms. The addition of a glazed wall panel at the top of the stairs allowed light to be brought through into the centre of the building. We wanted to bring a bit of east London edginess into the property, so we commissioned an artist to create a large wall mural for the patio, incorporating a number of iconic landmarks into an illustration of a dinosaur. This became a real feature and focal point for the whole ground level entertaining space.
