As the leader of an internationally recognised, super-efficient interior-design firm, Jane Churchill’s work has its roots in English country style, but features crisp modern detailing, immaculate tailoring and superb comfort.
Jane started her career at Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler, before opening a gift shop in Sloane Street. In 1982, she started her fabric and wallpaper company, Jane Churchill Design. After it was sold in 1989, Jane set up her Pimlico Road business, where she is based with a design team of ‘six humans and two dogs’.
Recent projects include the complete redesign of a six-bedroom former coach house in Knightsbridge and the redecoration of a client’s mews house in west London. Ongoing commissions include interior-design plans for a Grade II-listed country estate in Herefordshire. Most inspiring place? ‘The houses that belonged to Nancy Lancaster, my great-aunt. For exteriors, I love the work of architect .’
