Rose Uniacke

An A-class designer with exquisite taste, Rose Uniacke won the 2013 Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year Award. She enjoys having ‘freedom to design instinctively and organically’, maintaining respect for the period of the building yet imparting a modern twist. Her interiors are chic and pared-down, but also comfortable and welcoming. Cashmere, linens, timber and stone are the order of the day.

Rose trained as a furniture restorer and gilder, then went into antiques dealing and interior design. She opened her elegant Pimlico Road shop in 2009 and now has a team of 20. Rose continues to expand her desirable bespoke furniture collection, alongside her decorative-antiques business.

Current projects include houses in London and overseas, including the redecoration of a Chelsea town house designed by E W Godwin and a large project in San Francisco. In 2013, Rose completed the much-lauded Jo Malone London headquarters.

Industry recommendation

‘Rose lets a few beautifully considered pieces and old rustic floors do the work to create a calm, comfortable interior,’ says lighting designer Sally Storey.
