This is an assured designer, expert
at creating classic English country
houses, but a closer look at Serena
Williams-Ellis’s portfolio reveals an
eclectic mix of architecture and styles. Rooms
are airy and colourful, with a generous sense of
scale, and ‘creating an innate sense of comfort
and belonging’ is core to her approach. She
mixes antique and modern with confidence,
scouring auctions and salvage yards for pieces.
Serena has been working on
interior-design projects worldwide since 1996,
including historic houses, newbuilds, yachts
and chalets. She has a team of four at her offices
in London and Cumbria, and seeks out specialist
craftsmen, workshops and suppliers.
Right now, Serena is working on two
houses in Notting Hill, a house in Scotland,
and beach houses in Marbella and in South
Carolina, US. She’s also working on two five year
projects: a Grade I-listed Irish house and
a colonial house in Virginia, US.
